WHY DO WE GROW OLD AND DIE?
blowing bubbles asked:
People have always yearned for longevity, but why do we grow old, sick & eventually die?Is dying the end of everything?

Because we decay. Sad, but what is desirable is often not the truth.
Death is the end of our consciousness.

no my friend, thats life.. and dying is the beggining of everything.. but if you want it, you have to live a good life, and an honest, faithful, loyal, loving one.. and then when its the end,
you will have eternal life , with our father GOD.

Dying is actually an evolutionary advantage. Species with a shorter life span can have a higher reproduction rate without overpopulating their environment. A higher repreduction rate with a faster sequence of generations leads to quicker adaption to environment conditions.
When we die, we cease to exist. But we give our genetic code to our children. So some of our unique individual characteristics live on in the next generation.

there are a few theories.
1) we just wear out
2) cells accumulate toxins over time
3) brain is a peacemaker that regulates aging process
4) our DNA contains instructions for the cells to age
5) any combination of the above.
it seems, from scientific research, that our mind (or whatever you wanna call it) is the result of brain activity.
when we die, our mind ceases to exist.
dying is not necessarily the end, whether you believe in the existence of souls or not. nothing ends.

Because the world only has just so much room. If no one died, there would be way way way too many people on the planet.

Try to imagine a world where there was no death, only birth, and life. Our numbers would grow out of control, we would number in the trillions upon trillions. Imagine if every person who had ever walked this earth, were still walking it.
There would be no room to farm for food, no room for livestock, we would be in cramped conditions, unable to move for the number of people crowded onto the surface of the earth.
Think of Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl.
“Starving to death and unable to die.” Imagine that.
Eternal torture, with no end in sight. In fact, we wouldn’t be able to dream of an end, because there had never been any end that we had ever had.
And the very oldest of us all would remember when there were less people on Earth, and the skies were clearer, and when there had been food for the taking.
It would be hell. We would resort to eating each other alive such was our hunger, and those who were eaten would feel it FOREVER! Imagine if you fell of a building, or were shot between the eyes, and didn’t die!!
There are things worse than death in this world – and eternal life is one of them!

The great mystery. Anyone who has the answer is blowing bubbles out their ass.
Just as well we die, We get old and stuck in our ways and resist any change. We couldn’t stand to see everything change from the ‘good old days’ Who would want to live with mostly grumpy old men and women?
It is a mystery but we must dissolve back into the whole in a worst case scenario. yahoo!

Friend,
Our bodies go through this process ,as all of nature .and the entire Universe does so
.But if we examine it all very carefully ,we can see that it all goes through a rhythmic cycle ,death and rebirth, death and rebirth .
There is no death of you ,you are an eternal being ,made in the image of our eternal parents.
When we pass through this mortal probation ,we enter into the spirit world for a time to await the resurrection with those of our families who have gone on before us.
We are spirit beings having a physical experience, but unfortunately we think that our bodies is all there is ,this is an illusion of the senses.
In the book of Moses we read,” for behold this is my work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.”1; v 39.
God bless.

For many, dying is only the beginning. Of your time with God in Heaven.
We grow old because the body wears out, and eventually fails to continue functioning.
