What type of a government suddenly turns on it’s people? Are the aging being shoved out into an unsafe world?

This question ties into my other question regarding the decrease of monthly benefits to disabled individuals who get a state check & a federal check.
It’s a housing issue too. Only 40% of our income can go into our rent. A lot of disabled & seniors will become homeless with the lowering of their monthly income.
They seem to be forcing people into unsafe living arrangements.
Now, I/WE might be able to get food stamps…something I’d like to avoid if possible!

I suspect that it is a government that has over extended itself and can no longer meet all of it’s obligations. The working taxpayers are no longer willing to bear the burden and the government is unsure of how to make good on it’s promises to be everything to everybody.
