Theres something called “Telomeres” in cells. It divids every time a cell divids, BUT unlike the cell itself, telomeres doesn’t multiply. When theres isn’t enough telomeres in cells, they begin to die, specificaly commit sucide (apaptosis). This is what is know as the Hayflick limit (descovered by Dr. Leonard Hayflick.
HOWEVER! Cancer has something the stimulates the reproduction of telomeres, this is why cancer is “immortal”. If we can do that to normal cells, were immortal.

Natural biological consequences which have been observed in lab animals with extended life spans have been a reduced drive to reproduce. The population would naturally decline, like here in the west already because were living longer.

Are u guys not seeing how were becoming more overpopulated by the second…. We dont need anti aging! We need another black plauge! If only china were to continue consumption of natural resources at the same rate as today. In 30 years time we will need another planet earth to meet the demands…. Here’s hoping 2012 does happen and 95% of human population is wiped out! The planet is a living being and it will rid itself of the disease! (humans)

Whoever said God is against this must not have read the bible. There are accounts of people in the bible living for 100′s of years without dying. We are not meant to die so young. What God would be against is the food industry putting poisons into the food we eat so that we dont live so long. Its called population control.

im sure we can find a way to use resources far far far more efficiently.
vertical farms for example are around the corner, they will not only be dozens of times space efficient, but you won’t have to use nearly as much energy to run them VS trucking in food hundreds miles away. They will reduce water usage.
