I’m a thirteen-year-old girl and I haven’t grown in several months, could I be done growing?

Dee asked:

I’m 13 1/2 years old, female, and about 5’3. If I haven’t gotten any taller in around six months, does it mean I’m done growing? I’m not sure if it’s just slowed down a lot or stopped. A lot of people I know are still growing at this age, so… I’m not sure.

That’s possible, but growing often comes in spurts. ~

many females finish growing by age 13 or 14. you may grow a little more, an inch or less, but it’s likely that you’re done. consider your genes too and go from there. if your parents are not very tall, then it’s unlikely that you will be either.

I am the same height at 42 as I was at 13. Sorry.

Could be that’s as tall as you’re going to get. The average height for a woman is 5’4″, I think, so it wouldn’t be that odd to stop at 5’3″. But I grew another inch without really noticing it at some point in my late teens. I’d been going around thinking I was 5’3″ but then I got measured and was surprised to be 5’4.”

Perhaps you might be interested in a Yahoo search for “grow taller” but please don’t believe all the posted information as miraculous claims are likely to be fictitious fabrications.

Usually people stop growing at the age of 22. Maybe you are growing but you just don’t see the difference. In any case talk to your doctor if you’re still worried.

    Good Luck,
