How to dye your hair a dark slate grey?

Is it possible? I’m 22 and I want to have the upper 1/3 of my hair it’s natural black, and the rest underneath a very dark slate Grey (So it looks like color, and not natural grey hair). I am looking for a hair color that is unconventional but a little more sophisticated than the usual bright blonde, pink etc. Please answer back with tips and answers, not any opinions on how it will age me.

I like that! I think it will need stripping of colour first and then the colour adding. it will need peroxide, so a trip to the hairdressers will be best. I like the slate gray colour.
