I am so excited to be moving into our new house this weekend. It seems like it has taken forever for us to find someone willing to pay around what we were asking for our last house, and find something that we wanted to buy. We were originally hoping to stay in the Dallas area, but we couldn’t find a house we liked so we decided Fort Worth was still close enough and settled on a house there. We closed on it earlier this week but are taking our time moving into it because we have two small children who need a very slow, very smooth transition. I’ve been taking my lunch break to work on small projects for the new house. Yesterday I went to Pier 1 to get some throw pillows and end tables. Today, I am on my computer trying to decide on an energy provider. By googling Shop Electricity Rates and Save in Texas, I found just what we needed. Done. I may even have time to run to Pottery Barn for that rug before I have to get back to work.

When I had to move back in with my parents it was a big adjustment. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work since I’m a good bit older and they’re pretty set in their ways but you know, at the end of the day I’m just really grateful that mom and dad have been generous enough to let us stay here. I say us because it’s me and my dog Roger who’s so sweet but can be a handful at times. I’ve been trying to help out around the house like doing the laundry and going to www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/ at work to sign my parents up for home internet but you know, I think that sooner or later they’re going to really wish I could get a better paying job and start looking for my own place. We’re all old enough now that we want our own space and it’s not ideal for me to be back home living with my rents at this age. Unfortunately that’s just the way it has to be for the time being.

My kids are pretty good kids. They do well in school and they’ve got a lot of extracurricular activities that they’re devoted to and they’re generally just really good at being themselves. That’s why when they started bugging me nonstop for satellite I felt like I should just give in because they were going to keep asking and I didn’t really have a good reason to say no anyway. So I looked at a Cable TV Advisor in the area and picked out a package and now I can’t get them away from the darn thing! My son’s constantly watching sports and my daughter’s gotten really into trashy stuff like Bravo and MTV which I’m not crazy about. I think I’ve created monsters, is what I’m saying, all because I thought they were mature enough to handle all the extra responsibility. I feel like since I gave in though I can’t really just take it back – that wouldn’t instill much confidence in them that I think they’re doing a good job, you know what I mean?

My daughters were both born in the same month. This creates a birthday party planning frenzy in our house. I am trying my best to talk them out of anything resembling an organized party. I would be happy if they decided they just wanted to invited one friend over and spend the day watching the many cartoon channels we get from http://DireCT.TV/. The oldest one did decide she and a friend would go to painting class that was being offered at the Y. But she still wanted a cake, some friends over to eat the cake and of course gifts. The youngest one was easiest to convince. She was happy with having two friends over for a sleepover. She still wanted a cake and gifts, but I really did not have to entertain a lot of kids so it was a win-win for everyone. My advice to anyone having kids or wants to have kids is to be sure to space the birthdays apart. It may seem cute to have kids born in the same month, but it really gets difficult the older they get.
